Verify the patient's attendance
Updated
With attendance verification, a professional can only start the consultation and write in the chart after entering a code the patient generates. It's a record that the visit took place.
Who can use it: clinics that turn it on, on every plan. A professional or administrator turns it on in Settings → Booking Settings → Require Attendance Verification.
Step by step
- The patient opens the appointment in their portal and selects Generate Code (see Show your attendance code).
- The professional enters the 3-digit code in the consultation and selects Verify.
- The consultation starts and shows Attendance Verified.
Good to know
- The code expires after 60 seconds. If it expired, the patient selects Regenerate.
- There are up to 5 attempts every 5 minutes per appointment.
- For a video visit, attendance must also be verified before starting the call.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Code expired" | Ask the patient to generate a new one. |
| "Invalid code" | Check the 3 digits and try again. |
| "No active code found" | The patient hasn't generated a code yet. |
