The consultation
Updated
The consultation is the patient's chart with the visit bar on top. What you write during it is linked to that appointment.
Who can use it: professionals at the patient's clinic. Administrators and owners see it read-only if they don't work at that clinic.
Step by step
- Open the appointment from Appointments, or from Today's Schedule on the dashboard (View).
- If the clinic requires attendance verification, enter the code the patient shows you.
- Select Start Consultation. The appointment becomes In Progress.
- Write the note, record vitals or upload files (see Write clinical notes).
- For a video visit, select Start Video Call on the same screen (see Run a video consultation).
- When you're done, select Complete Consultation.

The visit bar
- View profile: opens the patient's chart.
- Edit patient.
- Edit appointment: see Edit an appointment.
- New appointment: see Book an appointment for a patient.
- The Services tab lets you book the next slot for the patient.
Good to know
- You can't start a consultation for an unconfirmed, cancelled or no-show appointment. The screen tells you why.
- When you complete it, the patient gets the after-visit message and satisfaction survey, if the clinic has them on.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| "Pending Confirmation" | The appointment isn't confirmed yet. Confirm it from Edit appointment. |
| "Attendance Verification Required" | Ask the patient for the 3-digit code shown in their appointment. |
| "Appointment not found" | It belongs to another clinic, or was deleted. |
