Book an appointment for a patient

Updated

To book an appointment, the team uses the same booking page as patients, so the clinic's hours, services and payment rules always apply.

Who can use it: staff, professionals, administrators and owners, on every plan.

Before you start: the professional needs opening hours in Availability and at least one active service.

How to book an appointment for a patient (45 seconds)

Step by step

  1. In Appointments, select Share booking link, then the open icon next to Clinic link. The booking page opens.
  2. Choose the professional, service, day and time.
  3. Enter the patient's email and select Continue.
    • An existing patient's details fill in.
    • For a new patient, enter their personal details and health history.
  4. Choose In Person or Telemedicine, enter the Reason for visit and select Confirm appointment.
  5. If the service is paid in advance, you'll see the payment options. The patient can also pay later from their portal.

During a consultation

On a patient's consultation screen:

  • New appointment opens the booking page with the patient already chosen.
  • On the Services tab, each service finds the Next available slot with the same professional. Select Book this slot or Another time. See Book the next slot from a consultation.

Good to know

  • The patient gets the confirmation by email, with the appointment's details, a button to see it in their portal and a file for their calendar.
  • If no time works, the same page lets you request an urgent appointment or add the patient to the waitlist.
