Patient files during a video call
Updated
During the video call, the patient can send you test results, photos or previous prescriptions. The files are saved in their clinical record.
Who can use it: the professional decides whether to allow it; the patient sends the files. Solo, Growth and Pro plans.
Allow files (professional)
- To stop more files, select Block patient files.
When the patient sends a file, you get a notice with View in Clinical History.

In the video call, select Allow patient files. The button changes to Block patient files.

Send files (patient)
- Once the professional allows it, select Attach files. While it's blocked, the button reads Files locked.
- Drag the files in or select them. You can give each one a title, for example "Blood test".
- Select Upload.

Where they go
- Each file is saved in the patient's files.
- A draft entry, Archivo adjunto (paciente) (patient attachment), appears in the Clinical History, linked to the video call appointment.
- The professional also gets an in-app notification.
Good to know
- It's blocked at the start of every video call: the professional allows it when needed.
- Each file can be up to 25 MB.
- If the patient selects Attach files while it's blocked, they see that the doctor hasn't enabled file sharing yet.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to do |
|---|---|
| The patient sees Files locked | The professional needs to select Allow patient files. The patient gets the change within a few seconds. |
| "File uploads have been disabled by the doctor for this consultation" | The professional blocked it. Ask them to allow it. |
| The file doesn't upload | Check it's under 25 MB and the connection is still up. |
